Eat. Play. Grow! Feeding Group

IS MEALTIME A STRUGGLE?

We are offering feeding groups for preschool and school-aged children!

Eat. Play. Grow! is a feeding group for children who are picky eaters and problem feeders. We will use play-based as well as evidenced-based approaches to address the feeding needs of your child in a fun and friendly environment. The group is led by one speech therapist and one occupational therapist with extensive training in a wide variety of feeding-based therapy techniques, specifically the SOS Approach to Feeding.

The SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding was developed by Dr. Kay Toomey and is an effective way to address problematic feeding behaviors in a variety of settings and populations. The SOS Approach uses a transdisciplinary team approach to address the “whole child” and focuses on increasing a child’s comfort level by exploring and learning about the different properties of food. The program allows the child to interact with food in a playful, non-stressful way.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Eat. Play. Grow! will be every Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:40PM with an additional 5 minutes of parent education at the end of each session. We will run the sessions for 12 weeks at a time.
